Project Engineer

Job Summary

 

Project Engineer with 5+ years of experience in land development projects working directly with the firm’s Principal Engineer. We are seeking a highly motivated Florida Project Engineer with experience in site, drainage, and utilities design of residential and commercial projects to immediately join our growing civil engineering firm in Tampa, Florida. Our ideal candidate is proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and lCPR 4.0 software program, knowledgeable about related municipal codes/ordinances/technical manuals, is hard-working with strong work ethics, and works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.


Abbreviated Responsibilities:


  • Management of land development projects for a diverse group of clients and projects including coordination with other consultants and jurisdictional agencies, oversight of project schedules and submittals.
  • Perform site due diligence and attend pre-application meetings with jurisdictional agencies.
  • Present projects before Development Review Committees, Planning & Zoning Boards, City Councils and County Commissions throughout the State of Florida.
  • Design and permitting of commercial and residential projects encompassing site layout and parking geometry, pavement marking and signing design, paving, grading and drainage design, and utilities design utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software, prepare cost analysis for site development projects and submit site construction plans to different local, state, and federal regulatory agencies for permitting.
  • Work closely with other project engineers performing design and preparation of construction documents for projects including residential single-family and townhome subdivisions, multi-family apartments, retail/shopping centers, stand-alone restaurants, office parks, medical clinics, educational, religious, and industrial facilities.
  • Construction administration including supervising and review of project specifications and construction monitoring reports, respond to requests for information, clarifications and request for proposals, review shop drawings and test reports, generate punch list and close-out documents and as-built / record drawing plan preparation towards procurement of the Certificate of Occupancy.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil/site design and drainage design of residential and commercial developments in Florida.
  • Experience in presenting projects in public hearings before Development Review Committees, Planning and Zoning Boards, City Councils and Board of County Commissions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple land development projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and lCPR 4.0 software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hard working, self-motivated, excellent teamwork skills.
